Available in both tower and rack mount configurations, the Vault computers are designed for mission critical industrial automation applications and for the commercial office environment that must have rock solid reliability and ease of maintenance not found anywhere else.  The Vault Computer guarantees "bang for the buck" than any other industrial computer on the market today.

One of the key differentiating features is the Vault’s "Healthwatch" software that monitors the system operation and then notifies you (or the desired personnel) of Vault operational issues that may arise.
The Vault provides a selection of communication methods that include interactive voice telephone, paging, and email -- configurable by the system operator.
These standard messages include:
· Power not within requirements (brown-out)
· Power Black Out and Shutdown
· Power Restart
· CPU High Temperature
· Hard Drive Failure (Primary or Secondary)
· Power Supply Failure (One of two)
· Preventive Maintenance (Clean Filter, etc) and scheduled messages
· Network Communication Loss
The HealthWatch software also can initiate an automated backup – A utility is provided for storing selected files or directories to removable media (e.g. CD-RW) or off-site location (service provided by IDAC WEST).
With IDAC WEST’s systems integration expertise, external Ethernet I/O configurations can be added for both monitoring and control applications.  Examples would include:
  • Power Monitoring and Management
  • Generator System Controls during Power Loss
  • Control Room Monitoring (Humidity, Temperature, Intrusion)
  • Security Applications with event based Video Integration
  • Custom Applications

Vault Computers are designed to run clean and cool. A filter is mounted in the front of the computer for easy maintenance and guarantees what's inside stays clean. Every CPU has an industrial grade fan (ball bearing type) and heat sink for maximum heat dissapation.

Heat is the number one killer of Pentium CPU's - the Vault is cool.

Our RAID 1 package is accessable from the front and allows for hot swapping of either drive in the event that there is a failure. And if there is a need to do so, a documented procedure walks the user though removing the damaged drive “hot” and replacing it “hot” and then configuring the new Drive without shutting the system down.

Our power supplies are sized to handle just about any contingency - in the standard tower configuration we provide a 300 watt redundant supply. If you need more we can even supply a 400 Watt supply, the largest available in a unit of this size! If one of the redundant power supplies fails, the HealthWatch software notifys you and then a documented procedure walks you through the replacement of a power module while never taking the system down.

Standard DRAM is ECC (Error Checking and Correcting) type to contend with the possibility of data corruption - this type of memory catches data corruption to the bit level.

If you are looking at rack mount units for industrial applications, the Vault is a standard (industrialized) computer, including expansion slots and normal operation, not a "server" that has limited add-in capabilities. Included in this are (of course) all of the features that we've described above!
