Hardware
Computer Console A Vault Industrial Computer, employing RAID technology, is supplied as the standard Supervisory Control foundation. In addition, a 20" Display is mounted into a console for maximum viewing and operator efficiency.
Network Architecture Industry standard 100BaseT Ethernet allows for a redundant network configuration and access by a company's corporate enterprise system if required. Communications from the Supervisory Computers to the System Logic Control system is Ethernet using standard Category 5 wire throughout the system.
Control Cabinet This houses the System Logic Controllers and the I/O system structure for direct signal interface to the dry-dock's sensors and a variety of field devices required for system information and control. The control cabinet can typically be retrofitted in parallel to an existing manual system.
Field Devices The system is designed to interface to most existing sensors and controls. These devices should be in good working order and able to transmit accurate information. If needed, new sensors and field control devices can be recommended or installed.
Software
SCADA The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System Software developed as part of the ADOCS II package runs on the state-of-the-art Windows 2000 platform. The graphical interface is intuitive and easy to operate.
ILC Control This portion of software runs locally on the Industrial Logic Controller (ILC) in the control cabinet. All of the high-level math, sequential control, and setpoint management reside here, allowing a system that is designed with safety as a primary concept
